Okay so I don’t agree with the death penalty, but there are two people in my state who beat a 3 year old boy so severely that he has had to have brain surgery twice so far. After they dropped this THREE YEAR OLD CHILD at the ER his mother and her boyfriend ran to MA, took a bus to NY, and were finally arrested in Universal Studios. They had a fucking vacation while her innocent baby was getting his fucking head sliced into. Them I’m okay with executing.
New Hampshire could have women in all major leadership positions - pretty cool!
And here’s hoping Carol Shea-Porter beats Rep. Frank Guinta, because he is a misogynistic douchecanoe.
Although, since Kelly Ayotte is anti Planned Parenthood and totally Anti Choice (unlike the other women in that group) no one should consider her a GOOD woman to have in power. She supports closing down Planned Parenthood because she disagrees with a legal medical procedure that makes up 3% of their work >.<
Republican candidate for Hillsborough County Sheriff, Frank Szabo, said today that he would arrest any doctor performing elective abortions in his jurisdiction. Further, he wouldn’t be opposed to using deadly force:
“I would respond specifically by saying that if someone is under threat, a full-grown human being, if they’re under threat, what should the sheriff do? Everything in their power to prevent them from being harmed,” he said.
When pressed about what he would do if he learned that a doctor was about to perform an elective abortion, Szabo replied he would do what it took to prevent that from happening.
“Absolutely,” he said. “Well, I would hope that it wouldn’t come to that, as with any situation where someone is in danger, but again, specifically talking about elective abortions and late-term abortions, that is an act that needs to be stopped.”
Even if the abortion was legal in the state of New Hampshire, Szabo says that as sheriff, he would not need to answer to any higher authority or public official.
While Szabo has no law enforcement background, he claims his business experience qualifies him for the job.
Areyoumotherfuckingkiddingme? FUCK THIS DOUCHEBAG. NOT IN MY FUCKING STATE YOU WON’T. I will fucking protest his ass every damn day. I’ll get a vagina costume and sit outside his office all damn day I’m not even kidding.
THIRTY REPUBLICANS voted to allow corporations to become an extension of our court system in October of 2009. They voted to give Wall Street corporations the power to arbitrate rape cases outside a US Court of law. Don’t take my word for it, look up the bill yourself.(Amendment number 2588, H.R. 3326)
(pictured: Jamie Leigh Jones, Haliburton/KBR gang-rape survivor)
THE GANG OF THIRTY WHO VOTED AGAINST GANG RAPE VICTIMS AND FOR THE RIGHT OF WALL STREET CORPORATIONS TO TRY RAPE CASES IN THEIR CEO’S OFFICES. And a few choice comments from Emma about them:
Sen. Lamar Alexander [R, TN] Nay
Well no surprise here. Lamar Alexander is the same jackass who said on Face the Nation that he still support Randy Paul in spite of Paul’s comments that he would like to turn back the clock on the Civil Rights bill.Sen. John Barrasso [R, WY] Nay
Sen. Christopher Bond [R, MO] Nay
Sen. Samuel Brownback [R, KS] Nay
Sen. Jim Bunning [R, KY] Nay
Sen. Richard Burr [R, NC] Nay
Senator Burr is no friend to women. First of all he voted for corporations to have the right to hold their own kangaroo courts instead of having rapists tried by a real court of law. Then just a few day’s later, he informs us that violence against women is a pre-existing condition.Sen. Saxby Chambliss [R, GA] Nay
Like all the other pigs, Chambliss’s piggery is not limited to excluding young female rape victims from their constitutional rights. On the don’t ask don’t tell law [It’s ok for homos to serve and die in our military as long as they keep their mouths shut.] Chambliss “expressed his concern that repealing the rule would pave the way for allowing “alcohol use, adultery, fraternization, and body art” in the military”
Sen. Thomas Coburn [R, OK] Nay
Are you kidding? if the is re-elected then the people of Oklahoma are brain dead. Coburn is a member of the religious cult, the FAMILY he assisted in negotiating the bribe paid to Ensigns lover’s family. He cares about life and he votes to uphold the rights of corporate America over those of a young woman who had been gang raped and then held prisoner by Halliburton?Sen. John Cornyn [R, TX] Nay
This man is such a whore for the RNC that if they told him to cut off his head he would ask when.
Sen. Michael Crapo [R, ID] Nay
another pig republican who supports corporate rights over those of a young rape victim.
Sen. Jim DeMint [R, SC] Nay
Carolina like his buddies he prefers Wall Street to the Constitutional Rights of young women. Middle Class.org gives DeMint an F for his voting record for every single year that he has held office.Sen. John Ensign [R, NV] Nay
Well what do you expect from a poor little rich boy whose daddy owns Las Vegas Casinos? Ensign’s mommy and daddy paid off Sonny boy’s lover and her family with a $100,000 bribe.Sen. Lindsey Graham [R, SC] Nay
Sen. Judd Gregg [R, NH] Nay
And yes, this is the same jackass who, if Obama and his corporate centrist Clinton regurgitated Congress had gotten their way would have been a member of the Cabinet. If you recall, Gregg accepted then position and then turned it down—most likely he NEVER intended to serve on Obama’s cabinet. He just want to embarrass Obama.Sen. James Inhofe [R, OK] Nay
This is the guy who thinks that it is just fine to throw the Geneva Conventions in the toilet. He said that he was more outraged by the outrage regarding Abu Ghrab that he was the inhumane treatment of the prisoners. No surprise that he would think it is just fine for a bunch Halliburton employees to rape a young woman and instead of the perpeterators having justice in a US court, allowing Halliburton lawyers to be her court..Sen. John Isakson [R, GA] Nay
He blathers on about how he supports life and then he throws away the rights of a young woman who has been gang-raped in favor of Halliburton’s right to hold their own Kangaroo court.Sen. Mitch McConnell [R, KY] Nay
If the people in Kentucky don’t know enough by now to not vote against this jackass, the are not educable.Sen. Pat Roberts [R, KS] Nay
Another big evangelical hypocrite Republican piehole who doesn’t think that women even deserve to have access to our court system for acts of violence against their bodies—that’s are real Christian attitude, now isn’t it?Sen. Jefferson Sessions [R, AL] Nay
Sen. Richard Shelby [R, AL] Nay
Sen. John Thune [R, SD] Nay
How could John Thune, an evangelical Christian with two daughters, Brittany and Larissa, listen to the testimony of Jamie Leigh Jones and choose to deny her the right to full representation in our courts? I wonder how Mr. Thune would have voted if one of his daughters were gang-raped by 7 men. I wonder if he would still have thought that it was ok to leave her up to the mercy of Halliburton’s kangaroo court?
Sen. David Vitter [R, LA] Nay
Are you kidding? This guy has his name in the DC Madams black book. No surprise here that he would vote to support a corporation’s rights over those of a young female rape victim.Ah, yes, the Republicans for Rape. It should also be noted that this gang of 30 was all men. All of the Republican women in the Senate — including the ultra-conservative Kay Bailey Hutchinson — voted the other way.
I don’t want you to leave again.
I like having you around.
From the bill:
“e) Materials that inform the pregnant woman that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer. It is scientifically undisputed that full-term pregnancy reduces a woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer. It is also undisputed that the earlier a woman has a first full-term pregnancy, the lower her risk of breast cancer becomes, because following a full-term pregnancy the breast tissue exposed to estrogen through the menstrual cycle is more mature and cancer resistant. In fact, for each year that a woman’s first full-term pregnancy is delayed, her risk of breast cancer rises 3.5 percent. The theory that there is a direct link between abortion and breast cancer builds upon this undisputed foundation. During the first and second trimesters of pregnancy the breasts develop merely by duplicating immature tissues. Once a woman passes the thirty-second week of pregnancy (third trimester), the immature cells develop into mature cancer resistant cells. When an abortion ends a normal pregnancy, the woman is left with more immature breast tissue than she had before she was pregnant. In short, the amount of immature breast tissue is increased and this tissue is exposed to significantly greater amounts of estrogen—a known cause of breast cancer. Women facing an abortion decision have a right to know that such medical data exists. At the very least, women must be informed that it is undisputed that pregnancy provides a protective effect against the later development of breast cancer.”
As a note - it’s illegal for doctors to lie to their patients, and although the person who authored this very much thinks that abortion will give you cancer, they are wrong and this bill would force doctors to break the law and patient trust.
This is my state. This bill also has a 24 hour waiting period in it. Additional bills they passed at the same time: making it so minors seeking abortion can only contact judges about it on court business days (so in addition to hiding an unwanted pregnancy from their parents now they have to skip school without them finding out) and one that bans IDX, which is already federally banned and is actually a positive thing for those who need it.
All I have to say to the NH House right now is GO FUCK YOURSELF.
Today my dipshit state passed 3 Anti Choice bills.
One bans IDX (“partial birth abortion” for those who know fucking nothing about anything) which is ALREADY BANNED FEDERALLY (thanks for wasting taxpayers dollars!) and, for those of you who don’t know, IDX is a positive thing for the people who need it.
Another has something to do with parental consent laws, but I don’t really understand what it changed, since we already have bullshit parental consent laws.
The last one REALLY pissed me off. 24 hour waiting period. Are you motherfuckingkiddingme. Do you really think anyone goes to get an abortion without thinking about it first? It’s a very expensive and stigmatized procedure. It is life altering, or more often, it’s the only way to not alter your life.
Listen to the late Doctor George Tiller: Trust Women*
*And other people who can become pregnant, obviously.
So far it’s passed the House. (+6 from this so far.)
I live in NH, we’ve never had a state income tax, and ever governor has to vow not to pass anything that would create one when they are sworn into office, so this bill in kind of redundant.
(Source: stoneagechronicles)
Unfortunately, we barely have any snow in NH (I live in the Lake Sunapee-ish area) we only seem to have a dusting, BUT we have a lot of ice. You know the kind, makes the roads suck but looks really pretty on the trees because it gives the branches that silvery-white coating.

Don’t Allow New Hampshire to Legalize Discrimination Against Gays!
A bill that is being considered by the New Hampshire House would allow people to refuse to serve gay couples getting married in New Hampshire — this could be any goods, services, accommodations, etc.
This would allow literally anyone — whether it’s an individual, business owner, or employee, to refuse to provide services to gay couples on the grounds of it violating their “moral beliefs” or religion. So essentially, it would be legalized discrimination.
The bill would also prohibit gay couples from being able to bring lawsuits against those who refused to serve them.
The gay marriage law for New Hampshire already allows churches and its religious affiliates to refuse providing services for or performing gay marriages.
Tell New Hampshire not to legalize discrimination against gays!
Petition is here — http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/Dont-Allow-NH-To-Legalize-Discrimination/
Please sign and reblog, this is my home state, I really can’t handle seeing this happen.

It’s sickening that they even give coupons.
It’s so sickening the Planned Parenthood helps people who could use 10 dollars off a doctors visit, birth control, STD testing, etc. We should all be appalled that they are willing to help people. /rolleyes
How disgusting that someone would help someone else pay for healthcare they possibly couldn’t otherwise afford. OH THE HUMANITY.
Nice! I didn’t know this was a thing.
This is for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, serving Vermont, New Hampshire, and southern Maine. You can get the coupon online here.
Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida has a $10-off coupon for your first exam. Check to see if the one nearest you has any sweet deals! It’s usually on the Patient Resources page, if they have one.
It’s sickening that they give coupons because the services they provide should be free
That would be pretty great. They do offer a sliding fee scale, so there are lowered fees or no fees for people without as much money. It’s a common Planned Parenthood refrain: “No patient is ever turned away due to inability to pay.” Much of their revenue is generated by health center income, in addition to government grants and private contributions, so unless either of the latter increase significantly, they’re going to have to keep charging for their services most of the time.
[Some of the government’s money is actually in the form of Medicaid payments, so while it is money from providing health care services, the chart shows the ultimate source of the money. In past reports, Medicaid payments were classified as health center income, and that slice was a bit bigger.]
Boosting for all my New England followers :)

Dear Virginia Tech,
I just want to say on behalf of all of New Hampshire, we are so sorry.
As if the tragedy that you went through back in 2007 wasn’t bad enough, yesterday you were forced to relive it.
Now, to add to your pain, two assholes up here will be “protesting” a campus wide gun ban at Plymouth State University by walked around campus with an unloaded shotgun.
The protest in and of itself seemed rather pointless, but to hold it today is just tasteless and disrespectful.
I’m sorry that these guys are being insensitive pricks.
