Republican candidate for Hillsborough County Sheriff, Frank Szabo, said today that he would arrest any doctor performing elective abortions in his jurisdiction. Further, he wouldn’t be opposed to using deadly force:
“I would respond specifically by saying that if someone is under threat, a full-grown human being, if they’re under threat, what should the sheriff do? Everything in their power to prevent them from being harmed,” he said.
When pressed about what he would do if he learned that a doctor was about to perform an elective abortion, Szabo replied he would do what it took to prevent that from happening.
“Absolutely,” he said. “Well, I would hope that it wouldn’t come to that, as with any situation where someone is in danger, but again, specifically talking about elective abortions and late-term abortions, that is an act that needs to be stopped.”
Even if the abortion was legal in the state of New Hampshire, Szabo says that as sheriff, he would not need to answer to any higher authority or public official.
While Szabo has no law enforcement background, he claims his business experience qualifies him for the job.
Areyoumotherfuckingkiddingme? FUCK THIS DOUCHEBAG. NOT IN MY FUCKING STATE YOU WON’T. I will fucking protest his ass every damn day. I’ll get a vagina costume and sit outside his office all damn day I’m not even kidding.
Declare that abortions themselves are not illegal at any trimester, but receiving an abortion results in charges of:
- premeditated murder for the lead doctor
- accomplices to the crime for the mother and nurses
Exclusions:
- Pregnancies resulting from rape*
- Pregnancies which would result in the death of the mother
- Pregnancies resulting from spontaneous insemination (i.e. virgin mary)
*In order to receive exemption, a rape charge must be filed, and the woman must testify in a trial
Why?
- When a person kills a pregnant woman, regardless of trimester, it’s double homicide.
- Killing due to self-defense is protected in the court of law. In this case, the unplanned pregnancy is attacking a woman, without her consent. Therefore, she is given an option to choose. The exclusionary rule is present to limit fraudulent rape claims.
- The woman should not be denied the right to abort a child. Crimes are not punished before they are made.
Everyone wins. The woman gets out of her poor judgment and serves time-out via a prison sentence without losing her life, and she maintains her reproductive rights.
If you want to put a woman in prison for receiving an abortion, that’s not keeping it legal; that’s criminalizing it. You highly contradict your first statement. “The woman gets out of her poor judgement…” Way to shame women* for choosing to have sex, a natural drive. Birth control is not 100% nor always accessible.
If a pregnant person is murdered it IS NOT always considered double homicide! I know right? There’s no federal law. NONE. It goes by a state by state AND case by case basis. Usually the biggest factor is the stage of the pregnancy. I know! Facts are fun!
Oh and, how would immaculate conception be proven? I’m reallly dying to hear that.
So if you don’t want to be a mother — “real” or otherwise — abortion is totally cool, right?
Also, and this ALWAYS bugs me about the “CHECKMATE!” blogs: a checkmate is a chess move which means the other person can’t win. How is this a checkmate? It’s not a fact or some incontrovertible morality. It’s just YOUR FUCKING OPINION, which does not constitute a checkmate. There’s a joke to be made here about queens and pawns but I’m too tired to think of it right now.

You are welcome to kiss my entire ass.
It’s not just about raising a kid. Pregnancy and childbirth are dangerous medical conditions. Even if a dude wants to raise any resulting child, it would still be the pregnant person putting their health on the line. Let’s also not forget that pregnant people are more likely to be victims of homicide.
Also, while it’s technically illegal, many businesses find ways of firing or letting go pregnant people. Especially lower wage jobs where it would be easier for the employer to get a new hire than it would be to reserve a position for an employee who is pregnant and possibly facing recovery time or increased risk of health problems.
And the final thought: I do not give a FUCK if some dude wants to raise the resulting kid. If a person does not want to be pregnant for any reason, that is their right. It is not spiteful to decide you don’t want to put your body through that trauma or rearrange your life so some dude can be a daddy.
Chances are that dude will get another shot at being a father.
We are not incubators. Fuck off, anon.

The little one pictured may not look all that human yet, but it is developing rapidly to prepare for life outside the womb. His or her sex has already been determined. Based on the size of this picture, his or her neural tube, which will develop into the nervous system, is well on it’s way to forming. Already this baby has the foundation for thought, senses, feeling, and more! Amazing.
Yet it’s still unthinking and unfeeling until after 30 weeks.
Also, this is an elephant fetus.Even if you pretend this is a human fetus, regardless of whether or not it is sentient, no one is entitled to someone else’s body, and permission can be withheld, granted, or revoked at any moment; it’s at the autonomous individual’s discretion what happens to their own body.

This was hilarious.
(bolded for emphasis)An ELEPHANT FETUS hahahahahahahahahaha
I’m dying. An ELEPHANT FETUS.
This still cracks me up.
If I found out I was pregnant with an elephant I would totally change my mind about how to handle the pregnancy. Abortion would be off of the table. Why? Fucking rich as hell for being the first human to give birth to an elephant. Plus, I’d have an elephant.

I was disturbed by many of the comments. It seemed that people don’t understand satire and the double standard being played here.

While waiting to give birth, Jordan was taken into the home of a “shepherding family” the agency hooked her up with, where — despite the fact she hadn’t yet decided on adoption — she was referred to exclusively as a “birth mother.” Says Jordan, “I felt like a walking uterus for the agency.” After she settled on an adoptive couple and gave birth,
Jordan cried all day and didn’t think she could relinquish the baby. She called her shepherding parents and asked if she could bring the baby home. They refused, chastising Jordan sharply. The counselor told the couple Jordan was having second thoughts and brought them, sobbing, into her recovery room. The counselor warned Jordan that if she persisted, she’d end up homeless and lose the baby anyway.
Jordan signed the adoption papers and went back to live with the shepherding family, who were “celebrating and asked why Jordan wouldn’t stop crying.” 5 days later she left, and when she later called the agency looking for the counseling they promised, her shepherding mother told her “You’re the one who spread your legs and got pregnant out of wedlock. You have no right to grieve for this baby.”
Many other women, says Joyce, have had similar experiences. Lured in with promises of support, counseling, a home, money, and an open adoption that will allow them to keep in touch with their children, they later realize that all the CPC folks ever wanted them to do was have the baby and get lost.
Crisis Pregnancy Centers are so damn infuriating.

You are not an abortion survivor if you just so happen to be born after x date. That’s like saying someone who was in America, in the comfort of their homes, during World War II, is a Holocaust survivor.
They’re not.
So, unless you actually survived an attempted abortion, you are NOT an abortion survivor.

USE LOGIC, PLEASE.
If a person is in a vegetative state and the next of kin wants them taken off of life support, that is their legal right, right? YES.
A fetus’ next of kin is the pregnant person carrying it.
That person has every right to pull the plug.
And before you start in on the “BUT THE…______________
Fair, but a vegetative state is usually permanent. Pregnancy usually is not. Would you kill a person in a coma if you knew he was going to wake up in a couple months?
_______________
If he/she needed to be hooked up to my body in order to survive absolutely. If you think that a pregnant person should be obligated to remain pregnant simply to be a fetus’ life support system you are not only giving the fetus rights that are equal to the pregnant person’s, you’re giving them more rights.
If I needed a kidney and you happened to be a match, I couldn’t legally force you to hand yours over. Nor could I force you to give me your blood, bone marrow, tissue, nothing. Your body is yours. My body is mine. The fetus has its own body, but if it is in someone else’s body they have the right to remove it.This is another example of the mandated organ donor fallacy. Here are my favorite arguments against this fallacy:
a. A pregnancy is only 9 months. Organ donation is for life. There is an inequality between the demands of the two acts.
b. Despite what the prochoice lobby would like you to think, women do not find themselves pregnant, they do not randomly conceive. Women make specific and deliberate choices which get them pregnant. If you are of a certain faith persuasion, throughout all of history there has been one virgin birth, and even then, Mary made a very deliberate choice in receiving her child. If you were asked to give a kidney to some stranger and you had nothing to do with the reason why he needed a kidney, you do not have a legal obligation to give him a kidney. However, when you conceive a child, it is usually because YOU chose to have sex (barring the possibility of rape,) with full knowledge of the possible consequences.
c. There is a big difference between forcing someone to sacrifice for someone who is dying, (which may be a moral, but not a legal imperative,) and passing laws which ‘force’ people to abstain from killing others. Forced organ donations are wrong because they don’t give you the freedom of choosing whether to save someone’s life or not, while abolishing abortion is necessary for the same reasons laws preventing murder are necessary. There is a difference between not swimming out into the ocean to save someone, vs. holding their head under water.
It’s cute how you think you’re going to be able to change my mind about this, really. Let’s go point by point, mmkay?
1) Blood and bone marrow both take less than 9 moths to fully regenerate. Your liver will regenerate fully as long as 25% of it remains. Yet none of these things are compulsory, even though they could save thousands of lives.
2) Pregnancy is not 9 months, it’s 10. And the effects it has on the body don’t go away. A person’s body will never be the same as it was before they were pregnant. 3) Women do not make choices to become pregnant unless they want to be pregnant. Are you going to sit here and pretend that rape doesn’t happen? And sex does not automatically lead to pregnancy, so consent to sex isn’t consent to pregnancy. That’s like saying consent to swimming is consent to drowning.
4) Thanks to the pathetic state of sex education in this country, not everyone realizes that sex leads to pregnancy! A lot of people think that as long as they only have sex during specific times during their menstrual cycle they will not get pregnant. A lot of young men believe that pulling out works 100% of the time. Not everyone knows.
5) Actually if you knew anything about religion you would know that Mary was also the product of a virgin birth, Saint Anne was said to be a virgin mother throughout various times in history.
6) Either way, I don’t subscribe to an organized religion, so kindly keep your rosaries off of my ovaries.
7) When they find a way to let these fetuses come to term in test tubes that’s wonderful. Until then pregnant people have every right to remove from their body what they don’t want in it.
USE LOGIC, PLEASE.

To recap:
Operation Rescue is an anti-choice group with terrorist ties. Period.
Their senior policy adviser is a convicted clinic bomber.
The man who murdered Dr. Tiller had their phone number in his car.
And now, this. This. I want to cry. I probably will, actually. And that’s what they want, I’m sure. Well, congrats, Operation Rescue. You have successfully instilled genuine, shitting-my-pants fear in me over the idea of clinic escorting tomorrow. I’m going to go anyway, of course, because it’s more important to me than my own life, but make no mistake, everyone: anti-choicers enable terrorists. Yes, even the ones who claim to be opposed to clinic violence. They enable this shit, they funded this website, and they support the people who created it. They are pissing themselves with glee over this.
There is no middle ground here. There is no compromising. They want us dead.
And I ask you, great big internet, where’s Anonymous? Where are the hacktivists? Where are the people who are frothing at the mouth over SOPA/PIPA as an invasion of privacy? Where are the starry-eyed radikewls who are willing to drop their jobs and lives to camp out at Wall Street and have a drum circle?
Honestly? Fuck you if you don’t care about this. Fuck you if you think it’s all about “the economy.” Fuck you if you’re too self-involved to recognize how access to reproductive health care is essential to economic security and social mobility for women, especially WOC. Fuck you if you are not enraged about compassionate physicians having TARGETS PAINTED ON THEIR BACKS BY A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
DO-MEST-TIC. TER-ROR-ISM. Admit that that’s what your organization is.
